Meet Dr. Sandra Castro, MD

Dr. Castro is a double-board-certified Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine physician dedicated to helping you achieve vibrant, long-lasting health from the inside out.

She established her strong clinical foundation by completing her residency training in Family Medicine in Chicago, where she developed an early and deep appreciation for the importance of treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than simply masking isolated symptoms.

During her early years in conventional practice, Dr. Castro began to recognize a recurring gap: many patients were seeking answers to persistent health concerns that standard medicine alone could not fully resolve. This realization sparked her desire to move beyond symptom management and to truly partner with her patients in uncovering the root causes of illness.

Guided by this calling, Dr. Castro pursued advanced training in Integrative and Functional medicine. She became a Fellow in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona, Andrew Weil, Center for Integrative Medicine, one of the leading programs in the field. To further expand her expertise, she completed advanced training with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and obtained certification in the Walsh Protocol, enabling her to offer evidence-based, personalized treatment strategies tailored to each patient’s unique biochemistry and life experience. In her practice, Dr. Castro masterfully blends the best of modern medical science with nutrition, lifestyle optimization, and mind-body approaches that powerfully support the body’s innate capacity to heal. She believes that true and lasting health is achieved through balance—addressing not only physical symptoms but also the emotional, spiritual, and environmental dimensions of well-being.

Every treatment plan is highly personalized. Dr. Castro takes the time to deeply understand your complete health journey, values, and goals, empowering you to become an active participant and confident advocate for your own healing. Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that healing begins with awareness and partnership.
